Baby in the house...

Yesterday we got to babysit my niece Peyton. It was so much fun! Koby was excited to hold and play with her for about 5 minutes and then the X-box started calling his name so he disappeared. While he was with her he enjoyed her.

Steve was in bed sick, so the girls hung out. What an adventure! Morgan was an amazing helper. Apparently Morgan is an expert on how to take care of a baby because there is a baby at her babysitters house. She spent most of the evening telling me that Peyton needed a bottle, was ready for a nap, needed to have her diaper checked, which cartoons she would really like, which toys she could play with, and the list goes on. For the few minutes that that wasn't driving me crazy, Morgan was incredibly sweet with Peyton and it was really cool to see them interacting. Peyton's eyes were constantly following Morgan-ofcourse that was where all the noise was at. Morgan has again informed me that we are going to have to get a GIRL baby of our own. I guess she doesn't believe me when I say it's not like placing an order. This first picture was hard to take-I was holding Peyton and trying to get a picture of Morgan feeding her-so I held the camera up over my shoulder and that was the best I could do.

PS-you may have noticed the shorter hair on Koby. I had nothing to do with that! Last week Steve came home from work and said, Hey Koby let's go get our hair cut. And Koby said, 'Okay' and off they went. I will try and get more pictures of his stylish new look-btw I think it makes him look older which makes me feel older! But he is very handsome so I guess it's ok.

Pictures of you...pictures of me!

The last time I posted pictures a few of you complained that I was not in any of the pictures. Not naming names but...if the pictures I post of me frighten you and you all decide to join a crazy mob I will give you a name or two! I know that I go way overboard on taking pictures of Steve and the kids-but what can I say-they are so darn cute! Any picture I am in I tend to be over critical of and I can always find a problem with it. So in pictures that I am in focus on my kids-they are what make the picture!

These pictures were all taken last weekend at my parents home.

I taught Morgan how to play 'go fish' so this picture is of her teaching Steve how to play. She beat him-twice!

My little ones are home!

I am so grateful to my parents for letting Koby and Morgan visit last week. It is kindof nice to have some quiet alone time with Steve but I sure did miss the kids! I am so glad they are home.

Blond girl with a spanish accent

Morgan has blond hair and blue eyes-if you haven't noticed. She also occasionally shows us her Spanish accent. Have to say it's pretty darn cute. We are very lucky to have an amazing babysitter for the kids-Zelia has watched Morgan since she was just a year old. Zelia adores Morgan-she has secretly told us that Morgan is her favorite of all the kids she has ever watched. And it's pretty obvious when we see them interacting. Zelia even called Morgan from Brazil while she was on vacation and cried because she missed Morgan so much!

Anyway Zelia is from Brazil and her husband Jorge is from Mexico. Morgan has never had a problem with saying Zelia but she struggled with Jorge (for you gringos out there-it is pronounced Hor-hey). For the longest time Morgan called him Zelia's dad, then finally she started calling him Hor-head. Yep I said Hor-head! Guess it was so close to forehead that it just fit. When we tried to correct her she would says "Hor-hey doesn't rhyme, Hor-head does!" She now has it down and she only calls him Hor-head to tease.

Due to being in a Spanish/English speaking house Morgan has picked up several Spanish words and I really enjoy hearing her say them because she says them with an accent! I guess some credit also goes to Dora the Explorer...

Before I let Morgan go to my parents for the rest of the week (Yes I went the irresponsible but likable mother route) we talked about what she can say to Rick in Spanish-my brother Rick and my mom are learning Spanish. I hope she doesn't forget because I think Rick will love to practice his Spanish with his four year old blond haired, blue-eyed Spanish-accented beautiful niece!

Easter weekend

We had some huge plans for the weekend but a few things got in the way-rain, cold, a sick little girl and a two hour delay in getting home on Friday due to several accidents. We did still have fun though. We got to visit with my aunt and uncle on Friday. It was great to see them and spend a little time bonding. On Saturday we tried to go to the dinosaur museum but Morgan was scared (I think she was mostly tired and feeling miserable) so Steve and Koby went through the museum. Morgan and I hung out in the car-I read while Morgan slept. That night we watched movies and hung out at home.

Easter morning Morgan woke up with another fever, I gave her some ibuprofen as soon as we got up but the first 10 minutes of egg hunting she kind of dragged-it was sad. She was trying to so hard to have fun but I could tell she just wanted to go back to bed. She acts fine until she gets a fever and then you can just see the sickness oozing out of her eyes. I am not sure what she has but she was recently exposed to strep and the flu. She is pretty adamant that she is not sick though. I think the main reason for that is that she wants to go to Papa and Gramma's house with Koby for the rest of the week. I don't think she'll be able to forgive me if I make her stay home for a few extra days. What to do?! Should I be mean/responsible?

Anyway the pictures below say it all-Easter was great!

The bad news...

I just wanted to let you all know that I lost the NCAA basketball bet. I went into the final game with a three point lead and then lost it to Steve! UGH! I had 7/8 of the elite 8 teams and 3/4 of the final four and then blam my #1 team lost out.

Now I am forced to go on a date with my husband-oh the horror! How am I ever going to get through this ordeal?

Just kidding baby-I love you-can't wait for date night. =)

Preview to Easter

Over the weekend we had a fun get-together with the Zabriskie's. We had a great time. I took some pictures of the egg hunt...

Lately Morgan has developed a strong attachment to Aunt Carol. Thanks Carol for being a stand-in grandma while Grandma Zabriskie stays busy in Heaven.

Occasionally my kids fight with each other-shocking I know. I think their biggest problem is that they are both so bossy (I was hoping they could avoid getting that gene from me...) Anyway there are moments when they give you amazing glimpses at how much they do love each other, I was lucky enough to catch this moment!
Morgan told me that she was taking care of her Koby. Awwww

"The talk"

Today Koby and I get to go to the maturation program. Now I haven't been to one of these since I was in 5Th grade-not that that was too long ago...(OK so I'm ancient-no need to rub it in!)but I don't remember much. Here's what I do remember-my mom came with me and I was highly embarrassed. Probably bright red the entire day! On the drive home my mom asked in her panic-laced voice, "Do you have any questions?" I answered in near panic-"No! No questions!" Maybe that is why I never got the sex talk from my parents.

Steve was going to go with Koby today but couldn't get off work so I get to go. We did have a deal-dad goes with the boys and mom goes with the girls-but it didn't work. Then later we are going to have "the talk" with Koby. It is hard for me to fathom that my baby is old enough for us to be discussing such adult topics.

It's kind of scary trying to figure out how much is enough information. Don't want to give him too much info...

Don't worry I am sure that we will all survive our little chat. Oh the joys of parenthood!

Easter

Yesterday I felt well enough to let the kids get out the Easter decor. For some reason I thought we had more stuff-basically all we have is a bunch of baskets and a million plastic eggs. So Morgan used her creativity and this is what we got-little trails of eggs everywhere.
Two weekends ago I got to visit my parents for the weekend and I made this Easter wreath-thanks to my mom for encouraging me to try-it wasn't too difficult.

Here are some other random pictures...
Morgan in the tub-check out all her hair!

Steve and Koby playing chess with and without Morgan's help...

Morgan and I (ignore my pale blotchy skin-remember I have the flu...

A poster child!

Well I am not sure if I should take this as a compliment or not but...I went to the doctor on Monday and was told that I was the poster child for influenza. Wow-lucky me! I have been sick for almost a week now and I still feel pretty miserable. But at the same time I can see how much I am loved. Listen to all the spoiling I have gotten over the past few days.

My sweet husband-On Sunday I don't think I even got out of bed until late afternoon-so Steve got the kids to church and even called in a neighbor to help give me a blessing. On Monday Steve stayed home from work to take care of me. I am sure I was great company since I slept 8-10 hours during the day. Steve added blankets during my shivering chills and heated rice bags, kept me hydrated and just kept things running smoothly at the same time trying to keep his distance so he wouldn't catch it!

Koby hasn't hardly argued with me at all-he must feel pretty bad for me.

Morgan is such a crack up. She has colored many pictures for me, taken my temperature (think I still have the scar to prove it!)and rubbed my back many many times. She has let me watch several Disney movies with her-she didn't even complain when I nodded off.

Thanks for taking care of me! Love you guys!
