Awesome big bro & faux PT conference

Yesterday Koby really spoiled his little sister. He helped her build a tent with blankets in the house, played a board game with her-anything she wanted-except for Candyland, played the wii with her and also allowed her to be his teacher while they played school. Talk about an awesome brother!

Last night Morgan had a bright idea-here it is:

Morgan: Mom, how about if you pretend to be Koby's mom (big stretch I know!) and I will pretend to his teacher and you have to come and talk to me.

Me: Hello Ms Morgan, how is Koby doing in school?

Morgan: Really good, he is really smart and he has an A. Here is his homework. (She handed me a pretty hefty pile of papers.)

Me: Great! Does he talk too much in class?

Morgan: No not too much. I have learned him a lot of things.

Me: Taught?

Morgan: Yeah I taught him a lot.

Me: What did he do at school today?

Morgan: We practiced writing his name like about 100 times. Then he had reading time. (He was actually still reading when I got home from work.) Then I gave him a cupcake paper and had him decorate with a pen, we like colored pictures on it.

Me: Wow! Sounds like you are a great teacher.

Morgan: Yeah, I am.

Block party

On Saturday some of our awesome neighbors planned a block party and it was so much fun! Morgan, Maylee and I hung out-Steve was home sick and Koby was off with his friends at the same party. Morgan loved getting her face painted. There was a cute little children's bike parade that I got to watch with Peyton.

The picture of Maylee is not at the party but I took it the same night so we might as well throw it in.

Ducks

We went to feed the ducks.
First pic is Steve riding in the backseat with Morgan-first time for him to sit in the back. Next is Peyton holding Maylee's hand-thought it was so cute I had Steve take a picture of it. If Maylee cries then Peyton will scream "BECKY!" When I say, "What?" she says, "Maylee is crying!" Koby enjoyed feeding the ducks even if he doesn't look super excited about it.

Check out the arm on those girls!

Jackson

On Tuesday June 21 my birthday, baby Jackson Matthew Werry was born-my newest nephew. He is super cute and I can't wait to spoil him as much as I do his big sister. Congrats Matt and Mindy and big sister Peyton!

Sweetest little laugh

Lately Maylee has been laughing quite a bit but as soon as we pull out the camera to tape it-she stops! She also laughs at such random times-like the other day when I was changing her diaper. So when I sneezed and she busted out laughing I asked Koby and Morgan to secretly get the camera out and hide behind me and tape it. I look like a fool but whatever it takes to make my baby smile-right? It is such a sweet little laugh and I could listen to that sound for hours. Enjoy!

My favorite pictures

Over the weekend I took 132 pictures and rather than trying to dump them all onto the blog, I am choosing to show you a few of my favorites-of course the subject for the pictures are my children! They are so darn adorable that the choosing is going to be hard.

mini-vaca weekend

I felt a desperate need to just get away but money, time off and a new baby prevented us from a vacation, so we decided to take a mini-vacation. I called the kids at about 2:00 in the afternoon and told them to pack up their bags. Steve and I got home from work at about 5 and after throwing my own things into a bag we took off. I had reserved a hotel in Draper, where the kids and Steve spent a couple of hours playing in the pool. Maylee and I took pictures and then hung out in the room watching HBO. We got up fairly early on Saturday and went to the Hoogle Zoo. We got home and just hung out together. We finished the weekend off by giving Steve his father's day presents, home-made breakfast and playing the wii as a family. I think we all had a wonderful time. I took a lot of pictures!

Morgan our little prankster put two barbies into a gift bag and gave them to Steve as his father's day present.

We wii

Last week while the kids were visiting gramma and Papa on the farm, I shocked Steve by suggesting that we get a wii. You may of heard that I am cheap/frugal/tightwad, so he was literally picking his jaw up off the floor. Here is the convo:

Me: What do you think about getting a wii?
Steve: That'd be cool.
Me:Ok, let's do it then.
Steve: When do you want to get one?
Me: When do you want to?
Steve: Now?
Me: Ok
Steve: REALLY? Are you serious?
Me: Sure
Steve: This is so not like you!

So we got one right then. The fun part came when the kids got home and we got to surprise them too. It was hard not saying anything to them all week long about it but I did it. Koby was so giddy he was actually smiling-yep for real a huge smile on my teenager! (that alone was worth the price of the machine!)

Since then we have played a lot! And it's been so fun to have us all playing together. Maylee doesn't actually play but she likes watching the TV while we play.

I also have an embarrassing confession: I was the first (and so far only one)to throw the remote at the TV-nothing broke thankfully! I also smacked Morgan while playing table tennis against Koby-again nothing broken thankfully. She was laughing as hard as Koby and I were.

Pictures of us on the Wii coming soon!

the stuff?

Over the past couple of weeks Morgan has earned some money from her grandparents and with her wad of cash she bought herself a swimming pool. Thankfully it's finally warm enough for playing outside. So anyway, Morgan invited Peyton over and they played for quite a while. Maylee and I sat outside with them taking pictures and supervising. Morgan borrowed my sunglasses, assumed this pose and said, "Ahhhh...this is the stuff!" I swear she did it all on her own! Believe me there is no shortage of drama in our house!

Cute little Peyton was a little afraid of the water at first but then she asked Steve to carry her to the pool(like she was a princess and couldn't get grass on her feet) and then they had a blast.

Maylee was a little leery since we kept getting splashed-mostly from her daddy.

Miracles

Yesterday a friend of mine lost her baby. She was 27 weeks pregnant and that was after years of trying and three miscarriages in the past year. I feel so heartbroken for her. This tragedy made me think of my own sweet children and how blessed I am that they were all born healthy and strong! And it doesn't matter that it seems like a cliche, it's true that every birth is a miracle. I think I realize that even more because of going through a miscarriage of my own. I am not sure why I am blessed enough to have three healthy children of my own but I am grateful and will hug and kiss them more now because of that.

May

I have been so busy lately that I haven't blogged much at all. Here is a bit of a recap of May mostly through pictures.

Koby earned 2 more merit badges. Steve's scouts got 24 merit badges that night. Way to go super leader!

Koby likes to browse on Facebook.
The other day I dragged the kids to a couple of stores with me-well I dragged Koby. Morgan loves to shop. When we got home Koby asked me if going shopping with me could be his chores for the day. I guess to him it felt like a chore!

Morgan is a little mommy to her baby sister. This week she and Koby are helping out on the farm but before she left she made sure to give me a few pointers on taking care of Maylee while she was gone. Morgan is such a great helper and I know that she adores Maylee. And Maylee loves Morgan just as much!

Isn't Morgan so beautiful?

Maylee is growing so fast-she is almost 3 months old. She is very active and such a good baby.

Man my kids are so beautiful! How did that happen?
