Piggie tails

Morgan has been bugging me to try and stick Maylee's hair into piggie tails-I finally did. And of course she looked adorable!

Family night at Boondocks

On Monday night we got to go to Boondocks w/ my work. We had a great time-too bad that bedtime came so soon, I think we could have stayed and played for hours more!
Racing was a big favorite for these three!
Maylee's favorite-sneaking part of Morgan's otter pop!
It was a lot of fun and I loved us all being together.

Provo city center temple

On Saturday we got to go to the ground breaking ceremony for the new Provo city center temple. I thought it was pretty neat. It was kind of hard to keep Maylee entertained-similar to church. But I hope that the kids will look back on it with some good memories. Steve and Koby had the assignment to put away the chairs afterward-there were a lot of chairs! I heard that about 5400 people were there-thankfully there were many hands helping put the chairs away. Because we stayed for so long after we were able to all have a turn digging! Just as an interesting side note: When Morgan was little and we drove by the tabernacle, Morgan asked if it was a temple. I said no, it's the tabernacle. She then started calling it the "temple-nickel".

What's going on?

So I haven't really been keeping up on the blog lately, but despite that we are doing well! Koby finished wrestling for the season and I have loved having more free time on the weekends and the evenings. We actually get to eat dinner together and even hang out now. Koby did really well this year and he learned a lot. He really loves wrestling and plans to keep wrestling for years to come. He is doing great in school-lots of A's. They are starting the end of year tests now but tests (like pretty much any subject) tend to be pretty easy for him. The other day he got the results of his reading level test-5 means he is at grade level, he scored an 8! I guess it helps to make your kids read the scriptures out loud as a family, even when they are really young. I can't believe he is going to be a freshman next year-thankfully here freshman are in the jr high still so I don't have to feel quite so old. He is such a great big brother-he loves to play with Maylee-someone was joking the other day that he must have taught her some wrestling moves because she body slammed a stuffed animal. Koby also takes care of Morgan after school for us-what a good boy!
Morgan is planning to participate in a talent show tomorrow so she has been practicing. She is planning to sing a Taylor Swift song, she seems to know all of the words really well. Morgan is doing really well in school and still enjoys it. She has a great teacher, which is always a blessing! Morgan is a great reader and lately we have been reading a book together at night and then she reads chapter books on her own-her favorite books are a series about fairies. Recently she has started hanging out more in her room-she loves to watch movies in there, especially "Parent trap", which she has memorized. She took out a bunch of toys, and added a bean bag. It's pretty cool. Morgan and I decided that we are going to walk/jog in a 5k with Steve in June-so Morgan has decided that she is now my trainer. I didn't really jump on board with her idea of doing pull ups, I am too wimpy!
Maylee is learning to do so many new things. Today she is 14 months old. She loves to help clean out the dishwasher and walk Morgan to school. Her favorite toys are dolls or the little people doll house that we bought last year at a yard sale. She carries a doll around a lot which is so cute. On the other hand, she dunked a couple dolls in the toilet the other day-not so cute! She just got her fourth tooth, which makes eating a bit easier for her. Morgan got her hooked on lucky charms cereal-she already knows how to pick out the mallows!
Steve & I are both doing well. Steve has started working on our yard, I am so glad that he is willing to handle it all. I tried to plant flowers but it was too early and then it snowed and they all died, I will probably go out and buy some more but I was so sad that the last ones died so quickly. Dang snow! Steve and Koby are planning several summer camping trips for scouts. I am reading lots of books-nothing new about that! Steve and I have almost been married for 9 years-our anniversary is coming up pretty soon-I can't believe how fast it has gone by! Oh I recently set a goal to lower my blood pressure. I was brave and had a bunch of tests done the other day-my blood sugar and cholesterol are good-nice and low, it's just the blood pressure that needs work. Wish me luck! (I had to put that info in here-it's supposed to help me achieve my goal.)
