Birth of a bunny

In the summers Koby and Morgan "work" for my grandma. Koby mows the lawn and Morgan does little odd jobs around the house-vacuuming, dusting, smashing soda cans, cutting down weeds, etc. Morgan is a pretty good saver and she saved enough money to make a trip to Build a bear workshop. We have never been because, well honestly because I am cheap and they sell expensive stuffed animals. But anyway...Morgan saw a commercial that was advertising a "great" sale. You could get any stuffed animal, any outfit and any shoes for $29. **Skip the rest and just look at the pictures if you are familiar with this store, it will just bore you!*** So we headed to the mall and it was pretty fun. The employees there are pretty awesome and make a big deal out of every animal. Morgan picked out a bunny really quick. Then we spent a long time searching for the right outfit and shoes. It was an important decision and Morgan took it very seriously. (think teenager preparing for a date) When the decision was made she got to help stuff the bunny shell and after shaking it to start pumping and kissing it for luck, she added a heart to the bunny. She got to determine if the bunny was too soft or too hard. Then she bathed it (vacuumed the fuzzies off)and dressed it. We then sat down at a computer and she got to name the bunny-Kaylee. They printed off a birth certificate, let Morgan pick out some bows for her hair and placed her in her "condo" (box). It took a long time but it was worth it-Morgan was so happy and she couldn't stop smiling. She takes Kaylee with us just about everywhere. She found some of Maylee's old clothes so she has more than one outfit.

Zabriskie Camp

For several years now we have been getting together with Steve's family and doing a small weekend trip every summer. This year we decided to go to Joe's Valley and it was beautiful. We had a great time!
We had a chipmunk infestation.
I was pretty worried about Maylee since it was her first camping trip and we stayed in a tent. Thankfully we have a tent that has 3 rooms, Maylee slept in one, Koby slept in one and Steve and I slept in the last one. Morgan was off sleeping in the kids tent. Maylee did great and she seemed to enjoy it! Koby and Morgan were able to bring their bikes so they could do a little exploring on their own.
Maylee LOVED roasting marshmallows with her Daddy-who is the king of smore-makers!

1st day of school 2012

Morgan is in 2nd grade
Koby is a freshman this year (yikes!)
I was out walking when Koby left for school so Steve took a picture of Koby for me. He is looking so grown up. I like to still tell people that he is in jr high, it makes me feel younger than saying my son is a freshman in high school! Not quite sure what will work next year when he really will be going to the high school. This term he is taking English, science, geography, honors math, weight training, computer technology and seminary. I was home when Morgan was ready to go to school and she kept telling me to take pictures. So we took ALOT!
Morgan gets a locker this year and she thinks that is way cool. (Notice the missing front tooth-two days later she lost the other front one.)
Maylee and I walk Morgan to the bus stop and we had to take more pictures there-Maylee loved standing in line with the big kids. Sadly, it won't be long before she will be the one headed off to school.
