Can I get a nap?

Lately we have been so incredibly busy. I was starting to think that it was impossible for us to get busier-WRONG! Yesterday Steve got a new church calling. He is the new scout master-can you say camping trips? Now he and Koby will be going on camping trips once a month and for a week in the summer! Plus he will have weekly activities. I am trying to move around my own weekly meeting so that someone can be with Morgan. It's a good thing that I carry two calendars in my purse, have a monthly calendar on the fridge and another one on the wall-otherwise I would not be able to keep up with everything.

Girl time

Over the weekend Morgan and I went to the women's expo with my sister-in-law Jody and her daughters Alysheah & McKenna and they brought a cousin with them. We had a lot of fun. There were so many people there! It was like a mad house. We got a lot of samples and had girl time. All of the girls got their nails and hair done. Don't they look adorable?

Then on Saturday night we got to hang out with my niece Peyton. Morgan and Peyt had a blast dressing up. They used these cute fairy outfits.

Say cheese Peytapoo!

BTW-This could be a post about boy time too but Steve and Koby didn't take pictures of themselves going to a movie or working in the yard or doing 'boy stuff'.

Just Steve and me...

Last week while the kids were off visiting Gramma and Papa on the farm, Steve and I were home...

ALONE...

(well alone together!)

As you all know when Steve and I got married I was all ready a mom to 5 year old Koby. Steve is an incredible dad and was right from the start. Nothing like being thrust right into the fire of parenthood!

Because I was a mom we didn't have time(at least 9 months) to adjust to living together without kids that most people have. I am not complaining-we have had a great marriage so far and I can't imagine life without either of my kids.

So anyway, when the kids are gone it is a different experience for us. The biggest difference is the quiet. According to Steve he talks just the right amount for a guy, but when you are used to a 5 year old girl that talks non-stop, the silence can feel weird after a few days.

I have noticed that we often get wrapped up in what our kids needs are that we forget that our spouse is actually human too. It was nice to spend the past week remembering all of the things that we enjoy and the wonderful person that Steve is.

We got to spend a lot of time just talking with each other-privately and without interruption.

We went on a couple of dates and we didn't have to hurry home to the kids.

BUT as fun as it all sounds, I did miss the kids a lot and ofcourse worried about them all the time-not because they were in danger or because my parents aren't capable but because I am their mom! So even though being away from my babies is hard, I loved spending some quality time with my sweet husband. It was a great reminder that we are actually Steve and Becky, not just Koby and Morgan's parents.

Thanks mom and dad for letting the kids spend a few days with you and for spoiling them rotten-which the loved! I love you!

Easter weekend

We got to spend the weekend at my parents home. It was so nice to visit and we had a lot of fun. We were so busy that we forgot to paint the eggs until it was too late. The Easter bunny had to hide boring white hard boiled eggs. But after all of the eggs were found I let Morgan color them.

It was really nice to be able to listen to General conference on Easter Sunday. It is a great reminder of why there is Easter. I have to admit that I wasn't able to watch every talk of every session but I do feel uplifted and encouraged to become a better person.

I helped Koby set up an email account this weekend-I am not ready to let him on Facebook so I think email is a decent compromise. He has gotten several emails and I think he feels pretty cool.

Morgan got in a bit of trouble over the weekend when she used a marker as lipstick-think bright BRIGHT pink lips. She tried to say that it just fell on her. (Do I look that naive?)The picture is pretty bad but you can atleast see the color of her lips!

Both kids spent a lot of time playing with the puppies and kitties. No pictures of that but here they are on Easter morning.

This week is spring break for Koby, so he and Morgan got to stay at Papa and Gramma's while Steve and I had to come home so we can go to work. I am so glad that they get a chance to spend time with their grandparents and an opportunity to play/work on the farm. Thankfully they aren't staying too long so I don't end up homesick for them!
