Finally...Friday!

I have been looking forward to this weekend for about 5 days now. We have been so busy that the week has actually gone by so fast-in fact so fast that it seems like I have been running all week and getting nothing done. I am so excited for a nice quiet relaxing weekend away. Koby, Morgan, my grandma and I are going to visit my parents- and of course Rick and Tara too. Conference weekends are great!

Koby has a week left of football. Koby's team has only won 3 games this year but they are having fun and I think they are really improving too. It will be nice to have a break from running to all the games and practices- but just a short break because soon basketball will start.

I have been taking a class with the kids. It is called Cradled in literacy. It has been so much fun. For the first hour of class the kids are in the gym playing and I am in a classroom. They have taught us all kinds of great ways to teach our kids. For the second half of class we get to do hands-on activities-use what we have learned. We only have a week left which is good and bad-good because we won't have to be on the go so often and bad because I have enjoyed learning so much.

Last Sunday Mindy let Morgan and I touch her stomach-she is 7 months pregnant for anyone who doesn't know. Morgan thought that was really cool. Then she proceeded to ask me if I had a baby in my tummy? Nope just fat! Then she asked Steve and Koby if they did. Nope-not boys! She must have decided that someone besides Mindy needed a baby in their stomach because she is adamant that she does now. Of course I am not going to explain the reasons that this is impossible to her so if she lets you know that there is a baby in her tummy just chalk it up to her being so darn cute- and stubborn since I can't talk her out of it!

Around late September/early October I start getting this strange excited feeling. When the leaves start to change that means all of the big holidays are just around the corner. I love to be prepared early for them all too. I know this drives some people crazy (hmmm...not to mention any names but-Steve I am talking about you!) Don't worry I am not skipping over any holiday just letting the anticipation build!
Halloween isn't my favorite but I love to see all of the kids dressed up and the carved pumpkins. Not to mention the fact that I love anything pumpkin flavored. Next is my very favorite holiday-Thanksgiving! I love this day-great food, family, and no worries about if they like your gift. This Thanksgiving we are getting a bonus as that is the day Mindy is due-so I will have another niece! Then there is Christmas! We celebrate Jesus and his life. We try to do more service, show more love for each other and just enjoy life. Then there are the gifts. Rick and Matt, my brothers, like to tease me and say that we have gifts picked out a year in advance-which sometimes we do. I actually try to think all year long about what the most perfect gift would be for each person on my list. I also try to pick up things throughout the year and hide them away for Christmas. I just love seeing how excited my kids are on Christmas morning. We have a system set up so that we can see all of the family on or right before Christmas. We end up having several holiday parties which is just an excuse to hang out with family and friends and of course to eat. Well now that I am almost giddy with excitement I better get some work done. Talk about boring...

Anyway enough rambling but I hope that you are all anticipating the upcoming holidays almost as much as I am.
