You play like a girl!

One of our family's favorite movies is the Sandlot. There is a part in the movie where the boys are throwing insults at each other and the absolute worst insult is "You throw like a girl!" I know it seems a bit sexist and really it is, but the movie does take place in the 1960's.

Flash forward to today: When Koby was playing football or baseball we had many rain-out games that had to be made up at the end of the season. On the other hand Morgan has played soccer in the pouring rain a handful of times already this season. On Wednesday it was like a monsoon and they kept on playing.


I love that all of the parents are huddled under umbrellas and wrapped in blankets and the six year old girls are running up and down the field in shorts and jerseys. And yes I was sitting in the car-more for Maylee's sake than my own. Koby did spend most of the game outside but finally gave up and watched from the car as well.

So maybe in 2011 playing like a girl is actually a compliment!
