Kitchen remodel

I decided to use my long Pioneer day weekend to repaint our kitchen cabinets. I used a Rustoleum kit and it made the process quite a bit easier. It did take about four days due to drying times and second coats. I love the final product! We also added handles and knobs. It was about $100 and lots of hours of labor but it made the kitchen look brand new and I LOVE it!

Maylee is hilarious

Maylee has been keeping us laughing again. Here a couple of the great things she has been saying that we don't want to forget. 1-Steve had taken her to the park and then he said, "We can't stay long. I don't want the misquitos to get us." Maylee replied, "I have already been misquitoed." "Mindy has the fregnancy." (Mindy is pregnant) Maylee and I were talking about it only being two more days until Koby would be coming home. Maylee pointed at a picture on the wall and said, "There is a picture of Koby. And Morgan. And me." I said, "yep, but where am I?" She said, "You aren't in the picture mom, you weren't born yet." Maylee has been playing with her Polly Pockets a lot lately. However, she likes to call them "Polly Pocks". What a funny funny girl!

Missing this kid

Koby is working in Elsinore at the farm this summer. I miss him so much! The other day I even went in his room just to smell some axe. I know that he is being taken care of and I talk to him on the phone, over text and email but that doesn't give me the hugs I need! Morgan said to me, "Mom you already miss Koby so much and he has only been gone for a couple of weeks. What are you going to do in two years when he is gone for two years?" Lets not even talk about that right now! Next week we are going to visit for a few days-can't wait!

Father's day

I am so thankful that I got to have a father in my life while growing up. There are so many people that didn't have that. My dad taught me so much and has always been so supportive. He was always there for everyone's activities even if we had to milk cows at 3:30 or 7 instead of 5. He taught me how to work hard and I appreciate all that he does for me and my family. Thanks Dad!
I have also been blessed to marry an amazing man who instantly became a father. Koby was only 5 years old when we met Steve. I love that Steve never introduces Koby as his step-son and that he talks about Koby as much as he does the girls. Steve loves us all so much. He works so hard at everything he does. Thank you babe for being such an amazing father to our babies! Love you forever!

Girls weekend

During the first weekend in June I got to go on a girls trip with some awesome ladies. I didn't take many pictures but I had so much fun! At one point we were asked if we were family or friends and I said both. We went to St. George, soaked up sun, played in the pool, got pedicures, shopped, saw a play at an outdoor amphitheater, went to a movie, talked and laughed. I missed Steve and the kids but it was such a great trip.
Thanks for the laughs-Jody,Savannah,Danielle,Jami,Carol & Diane!

From the mouth of babes

The other day Maylee was "fixing" my hair. She put about a dozen ponytails in my hair. While she was doing that Morgan asked her, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Maylee thought for a minute and then said, "A bun." We burst out laughing and she added, "A bun in my hair." She has some goals-this girl! I was talking to Maylee and said to her, "No way Jose!" She said, "I not Jose, I am Maylee!" I said, "Then who is Jose?" She said, "He has black hair...and clothes...and he is Koby's friend." (Imagine the tone of duh mom!) We sure love this girl-she keeps us laughing all the time!

All in a day (off)

Last Friday I took the day off of work. During the morning Maylee and I hung out-just the two of us. Her favorite part was when we went to IFA and saw the baby chicks. She LOVED them and kept going back to look some more.
Her favorite ones were black and yellow. After lunch Maylee went to the babysitter and I went to Morgan's school for the Mother's day program the 3rd graders were putting on. Morgan dressed up and looked so beautiful.
They did a dance and then the moms came down out of the stands and danced with them. We did the hokey pokey, chicken dance and the bunny hop.
Very fun! Then we watched a movie they had made about how "Happy" mom's make them. It was adorable. They recited a poem and then gave all of the mom's a plant and cards they had made us. After that we left the school and went and got Morgan her 1st pedicure! It was so fun and she loved it! I ofcourse, had to get mine done. (BTW-one more item crossed off my 40X40 list!)
What an amazing day off, I need more of these days! Next time I need to have individual time with Kobers too.

Spring break 2014

This year for Spring break we stayed in a condo at Wolfe creek in Ogden canyon with Brian and Jody and their family. We had so much fun-I hope it becomes an annual tradition. The kids all got along so well and always seemed to have someone to play with. Koby hung out with Alysheah and McKenna-they watched a lot of movies and played a lot at the rec center. Morgan played with Cayden and Mckenna. Maylee and Cameron became best friends. We got to visit a dinosaur museum Hill air force base museum We got to explore for several hours and even build our own rockets! It was awesome! We got to go to the drive inn movie-Morgan and Maylee's first time. We took the seats out of the van and the kids sat on them between our vehicles. We played at the rec center-racketball, basketball, tennis, volleyball. Here is my fav picture from those activities: We played games, talked, watched movies, relaxed and ate lots of yummy food. It was an amazing vacation.
