40x40
First off I have to confess that 40 is right around the corner for me. Turning 30 wasn't that big of a deal but 40 feels a bit blah to me. I don't want to be 40 years old! I don't! I don't! (will it help me to stay young if I throw a tantrum?)
So I decided to accomplish 40 things before I turn 40. Here is a picture of my list. When I wrote the list I had three years, one month and one day to complete the entire thing. I think I can do it. I also had a lot of fun creating my list.
I am happy to report that I have crossed one item off the list already. Steve taught me how to play racquetball on Saturday and it was really fun. Not only did we have time alone together, we got our exercise and I accomplished one of my 40x40. On the down side, Steve did close the trunk on my head and hit me really hard in the eye with the racquetball after being at the rec center for only 5 minutes. Nothing comes easy right?
Mommy's day
This year mother's day was pretty awesome! I really felt spoiled. I asked the family to help me dig up part of the grass and make it into a flower bed. They all helped me for about two hours and it was quite a bit of work. We planted some beautiful flowers-anyone know why all my yellow flowers died? Same flower in pink and purple survived but not the yellow ones. Weird right?
Everytime I picked up the camera to take a picture of the workers, Maylee would run in front of me, with her hands on her hips and say "cheese!". What a stinker, cute but still a stinker! The finished product-we have gotten a ton of compliments.
So even though that was all I asked for I got a lot of other gifts too! Morgan gave me several gifts, cards, and breakfast in bed. Koby walked to Walmart and bought me redvines and a card. Steve gave me a bracelet and cooked dinner for us. I felt very loved.
One of the coolest things was that Koby talked in sacrament on Mother's day about what he has learned from his mom and it was an amazing talk. I was impressed with his talk as well as with what a good mom he thinks I am.
We got to visit my mom the weekend before but I still got to call her on Mom's day and chat. I am so grateful for her and all she has taught me and done for me and my family.

New babies!
My little Maylee bug
Maylee is developing quite a personality. She is the sweetest little girl and so darn adorable. It is crazy to me how some moments she seems "grown up" but I still want to cuddle and snuggle her like she was a newborn.
Recently a little boy in our neighborhood was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer-he is a few months older than Maylee. I have been feeling so devastated for the family lately, not that he can't beat this but because he is my baby's age and he has to go through all of these treatments. I am so grateful that Maylee is healthy. We are praying for sweet Derek (we became buds when I was his nursery teacher) but in the meantime I will have to hug my babies closer and appreciate them more.
