Finally some new pictures of Maylee...
It's been a while since I last blogged, the main excuse is that I am trying to adjust to having a new baby in our home. Since Morgan is now 6 it's been a long time since I did all of this. I definately need to hone my skills. I haven't been too good at taking pictures but this morning while we were all dressed nicely for church I pulled out the camera and took a few shots.
Koby and Morgan are both great helpers with Maylee. They are adjusting well to having a new little sister. Maylee is a wonderful baby-she is still sleeping a lot (yes even at night). Even though she is tiny she is incredibly strong-she can all ready hold up her head. We have figured out that she gets angry when she has the hiccups, she doesn't like hats or bows on her head and we all love when she smiles-even if it is just gas!

Maylee
On Wednesday morning 12:58 am, Maylee Ann Zabriskie was born (via C-Section). She was born two weeks before her due date but still was born perfectly healthy! She weighs 6 lbs, 12 oz, 18 inches long, has brown hair and eyes and is so adorable. Maylee is a great baby-so patient and mellow, she has hardly cried-though I am sure that will change. She doesn't seem to mind the extra-cuddling/hugging/attention that she is getting from her family.
We are so happy to have her as part of our family!

Super Dad
Today at Morgan's school they had "Dads and Donuts". All dad's were invited to go to the school and eat and read a book with their child. Morgan has been looking forward to it all week. Every day she has said she can't wait for Friday. Steve was able to make arrangements to go into work late and take her. I was "resting" in bed after doing Morgan's hair and helping her get ready to go, so I asked Steve to bring the camera upstairs. Here is a picture before they left. Steve asked Morgan if since he was the dad, did that make Morgan the doughnut?
To continue on with the super dad theme, I have to talk about the past week and how amazing Steve has been. On Tuesday when I went to the doctor my blood pressure had jumped ALOT! Like almost 40 pts in one week. The doctor was obviously concerned and he told me that I needed to rest, stay off my feet and try and get my BP under control. If I don't do this the doc said he would stick me in the hospital on bed rest. So after talking to Steve, Koby & Morgan and my boss we came up with a plan. I am working fewer hours at my job, not lifting anything and resting as much as I can. Steve and Koby have taken over all the cooking, cleaning, lifting etc. I felt guilty about just laying around being lazy and making them do it but I know that I have to do this and I keep reminding myself that it's temporary. I am so grateful to my wonderful husband and children who have shown so much love for me.
So if you have any great advise for quickly lowering your BP during pregnancy I would love to hear it!
