Another party

Yesterday we celebrated Morgan's 6th birthday as well as Steve's dad's 66th birthday. It actually worked pretty well. Morgan opened a present and then Grandpa did-back and forth until the presents were done. Morgan had a Princess cake and we got Grandpa a German chocolate cake. We sure had a lot of people crammed into our home but it was fun! Happy birthday Dan and Morgan!

Morgan is 6!

Happy birthday to my sweet little girl! We love you so much!

Koby's cheering section

Last night at Koby's basketball game he had a huge cheering section of his very own. I know that he felt very important and loved. My parents and brother Rick drove 2 hrs (each way) just to catch his game. There was also my brother Matt there who lives very close but was kind enough to come along and cheer too. Then of course there was Steve, Morgan and I. What an amazing family we have that is so supportive to my children!

Last week Steve's dad was able to make it to a game too.

Thanks family! We love you!

Morgan's party

On Saturday Morgan got to celebrate her 6th birthday with her friends. I let her make her own guest list and didn't even make her scratch off any names when her list ended up being 9 friends. So ten girls! She also invited Koby's friend Oscar to come over-he did but just to help.

We made bracelets, played games (kiss the frog, toss the crown, princess, princess, frog), decorated cupcakes, ate junk food and opened presents. Morgan had so much fun and she keeps talking about how it was the best day ever!

Our helpers-they actually did help a lot but got paid for their services by stealing all of the left over candy and goodies.

A conversation w/ Koby

Me:(looking through Koby's contacts on his cell phone)Wow there are a lot of girl's numbers on here.
Koby: shrug
Me: There are more girls than boys on here!
Koby: So, what's wrong with that?
Me: Ummm... you are my little baby boy and I don't want girls chasing you! I don't want the drama of teenage girls in my baby's life!
Me: (What I REALLY said) nothing wrong with that.

Final trip BB

BB=before baby

Last weekend I went to visit my parents with Morgan and my grandma. I am pretty sure that was the last trip I will make before I have this baby. My mom and sister-in-law Tara kept telling me that I could go ahead and go into labor because Tara knows what to do-she is in the nursing program. But since it's still just a little bit too early and Steve and Koby were off camping, I kept my legs crossed.

We had a great visit. Morgan was spoiled by both grandma's and Papa. We "helped" my 79 year old (almost 80)grandma get her ears pierced. The lady told her if she was brave and didn't cry she would get a sucker and so would Morgan for holding her hand. Here is a close up of the teeny tiny butterfly earring.

We also tied two baby quilts for Maylee. My wonderful, talented mom is going to bind them for me. Morgan was very helpful-she would sit under the quilt and then poke the needle back up for us and made sure there were no knots underneath. Here is a couple of blurry pictures of the unfinished product.

Morgan also got to paint and decorate all of our nails. Grandma Shelley bought her some nail stickers of butterflies and flowers. Morgan had a blast pampering us. I can't see my feet really well but from what I can tell they look really nice.

A win

Koby's basketball team has (finally) won! And not just one game, but two! Last week they won by quite a bit...the picture above is the final score. Last night they won by one point. Way to go Koby and team! Koby has been playing quite well and we sure enjoy cheering for him. I do have to rein Morgan in a bit, she would like to scream, "I love you Koby!" during the middle of the game.

Things I had forgotten

I didn't realize how much of my previous pregnancies I had forgotten. Here are a few of the "joyful" things about being pregnant.

1. Cankles-my feet/ankles look like tree trunks and my toes like Vienna sausages
2. constant heartburn-caused by EVERYthing!
3. laugh/cough/sneeze=peeing in pants
4. difficulty in bending (Is it really worth it to bend over and pick up that handful of change I just dropped? Probably not!)
5. The waddle
6. getting kicked in the ribs and/or bladder frequently
7. Trips to the bathroom 4-5 times a night
8. difficulty in shaving legs
9. people that believe just cuz you are pregnant they should get to touch your stomach
10.Ability to cry is as easy as ability to breathe
11.Receiving comments on the "hugeness" of my growing body

However there are also some pleasant things that I forgot about being pregnant.
1. People chalk up forgetfulness and airheadedness as just a side effect of pregnancy.
2. Can use pregnancy as an excuse to get out of just about everything
3. Can't clean the bathroom-too many chemicals in a small space
4. Buying/receiving adorable baby clothes, blankets, toys, etc.
5. People are nicer to you
6. Once the whole thing is over you get to bring home a brand new baby that smells wonderful (most of the time), who is so soft and cuddly and your arms and heart are full.

**I am intending this to be humorous and hope that no one's feelings were hurt.

shadows

Wednesday was definitely shadow day for us.

First do you really trust that furry, fat little groundhog? This year he didn't see his shadow-which is supposed to mean that Winter is over-HA! On February 2nd we woke up to a temperature of 0, ZERO degrees. It is freaking cold outside! And the weatherman is predicting snow for the next 4 days. I think that groundhog is a liar!

On Wednesday Koby got to come to work with me and spend the day "job-shadowing". I really enjoyed having him with me all day. He didn't talk much but it was nice just to have him close. I tried to make it a little bit fun and he didn't complain too much. It helped that he didn't have to go to a meeting with me but got to stay in my office and play computer games. And the junk food I let him buy was a perk. He allowed me to take one picture from that day.

On that same night Steve made us dinner and Morgan offered to help him cook. They made pancakes, hash browns and boiled eggs. Normally when we let Morgan help she isn't the head chef but Steve pretty much put her in charge. She helped put all of the ingredients into the bowl for pancakes, mix it up, pour it on the griddle and flip them too. It was adorable and I handed Steve the camera to capture his little cooking shadow.

What a good dad! Steve was so patient and let her do as much helping as she wanted. I am sure it would have been faster and easier for him to just do it himself but instead he let her have a great time learning.

Scout sled champs

In January when Steve and Koby went camping at the scout Klondike-our ward won the sled race. There were about 10 teams and they ended up the winners. Last night a lady from the district scouting office came and gave them an award. Their pictures are supposed to be in the newspaper soon. Here they are! Half of the boys in the picture didn't even go to the Klondike but they got in the picture anyway.

This is a picture of Morgan and her friend Faith. They were a bit bored by all of the scouting talk.
