Maylee has learned a cool new trick. She loves to make a tongue taco.
She also loves to stick her tongue out and blow raspberries.

Waiting
Everyday either Steve or I and the girls run out to Mapleton and pick up Koby from wrestling practice. Koby isn't know for being on time, so we often sit and wait-sometimes for a very long time. I am usually prepared with toys for Maylee and Morgan's homework. Earlier this week we waited for an especially long time and to keep us entertained we pulled out the camera.
Morgan doing homework and making faces...
Maylee-making faces and pretending to drive...
My girls sure are gorgeous!

So glad we made it to Friday...
We have had such a busy week. I feel exhausted now that it's almost over.
On Monday we went to the Festival of Lights. It was Maylee's first time and she loved them!(Festival of lights is where they have a lot of lights and you just drive your car through and look at them.)The awesome car in front of us even paid for us!
Koby was really excited too! After the lights we went shopping and got a few gifts for the angel tree. Every year we all pick out a new ornament for the tree so we did that too.
On Tuesday Koby had his Christmas orchestra concert. Morgan's friend Lilly got to sit with us so that helped keep Morgan entertained. Maylee was so good, I think she liked the music.
Koby did a great job-I can see how much he has improved since last year.
On Wednesday Morgan was in the 1st grade play. She was a narrator and had her part memorized the day she brought it home. The play was so cute!
On Thursday Maylee woke up and began throwing up. I spent all morning holding her because whenever I put her down she would wake up, start crying and then throw up. At noon I called the doctor and they got us in 15 min later. She was diagnosed with another ear infection-this was her 5th in 5 months. We were referred to an Ear, nose and throat specialist. Amazingly, they were able to get us in later that afternoon. So we ran over to that dr's office after picking up her latest rx. They decided that she needs to have tubes put in her ears so, again amazingly enough, we were able to schedule her for the surgery on Tuesday. This was the highlight of the whole visit.
Maylee was so good-even though she felt miserable and we had to wait for quite a while-she just looked at books and played quietly.
Thankfully the antibiotic has already kicked in and she is doing better. I am kind of nervous about the surgery just because she is MY baby and she is so little. But I do know that it will help her in the long run and it will be nice to have a healthy baby.
Tonight Koby has to go to another concert for school, we need to get some more shopping done. On Saturday we have several Christmas parties to go too and Koby has a wrestling tournament. So more days packed full of stuff. I am starting to think that being snowed in at home for a couple of days sounds pretty heavenly!

Maylee @9 months
It's crazy how fast the past 9 months have gone by. I can't believe that Maylee has been part of our family for a whole 9 months already! I can't put her physical stats on here since we haven't been to the doc yet but I can tell you a little about her.
Maylee is a very happy friendly baby. She says Mom (1st word) and Dadda (2nd word). She is quite the chatter box-she is like her sister in that she loves to hear herself talk. She smiles a lot. Morgan makes her laugh more than anyone else-something Morgan is very proud of.
Maylee is like a little worm-she is moving all of the time. She can turn herself around in a circle while sitting on her bottom w/o falling over. On her stomach she likes to scoot sideways and backwards. She can army-crawl in a forward direction a little bit but only if there is something she really wants just out of her grasp. She also pushes up on her toes and stretches but hasn't quite gotten the crawling down yet.
If she is holding something you can tell her to shake it and she will. It's especially fun for her when what she is shaking makes noise.
When one of us walks past her if we don't talk to her she starts to cry and sometimes when we leave the room with out her. She likes to be the center of attention but she is also pretty good when we put her on a blanket in the middle of the floor with a box of toys.
At her babysitters house she is the star attraction. After I knock on the door in the morning I can hear kids yelling, "Maylee is here!". Once the door is open we are surrounded by kids yelling hello to her. They also have created a song about her. Pretty cute!
We are so lucky to have Maylee as part of our family!

Wrestling Koby
Last night Koby made the varsity wrestling team. He beat two other kids in his weight class to get the position. Way to go Koby! We are so proud of him. He has worked really hard and learned really fast. Great job!

Today (and last night at about 1:30-2:30am) I am grateful for modern medicine. Poor Maylee is sick with another ear infection-but last night would have been way worse w/o the Tylenol and antibiotic!

I am grateful for libraries. Have I mentioned that I love to read? Oh yeah, like A LOT! So unfortunately I am not wealthy enough to purchase a steady stream of books, nor do I have room to store them, so I really use the public library. In our small town we have a beautiful brand new library and I love going there.
The other day I saw a quote that totally fit me-I can't remember the exact wording but it said something like this, "You always dreamed of living in the Beast's castle (Beauty and the beast) because of the library." So so true!

19 & 20
Missed yesterday-we were so busy and were gone most of the day. So I will have to do two days now...
First I am grateful for temples and the blessings we receive from going there. I am so glad that Steve and I are able to be sealed and it's such a comfort to know that we are together forever. We are both working towards the same important goals of eternal life. I also love that we can go to the temple pretty much anytime that we want to-it is so close! And the peace that I feel there is so amazing!
Second I am grateful for the scriptures. It is the way that we are able to get answers and direction from Heavenly Father. I know that when we read the scriptures together as a family we get along better and their is greater peace in our home.

Gotta love technology!
Last night Steve was busy w/ P90X, the kids were in bed and I was downstairs reading a book when my phone went off. I got up and answered. It was Koby calling from his phone upstairs, "Mom will you put bread on your grocery list? I have to bring bread for the sacrament on Sunday?" I said yes while laughing. Koby, "I didn't want to get out of bed!"

I am so grateful for friends. I have so many wonderful friends that care about me and my family. Who are always there for me, who listen to me and love me in spite of my failings. Friends help make life more enjoyable.
I am also thankful that my children have good friends. Koby and Morgan have both been blessed with a wonderful talent of making new friends easily. And of course I think Maylee will follow in their footsteps since all she has to do is smile and people flock to her.

Day 15
Today I am thankful for technology. I love having information at my fingertips. Life before google is a little hazy.
It is so great to be able to connect with family and friends so easily. Facebook has been awesome in connecting me with old friends and staying up to date on everyone!
I also love being able to "journal" here on blogger. In the past I always felt guilty for not journaling my life but it seemed that I could never just sit down and write on a regular basis. Now I am able to do it fairly easy about twice a week or so and no more guilt-well at least not in that area!

Wrestling
Koby decided to join the wrestling team this year. He has been practicing for about 3 weeks now. We have gone to two tournaments and even though I am worried about my baby getting hurt, it has been kind of fun to watch. On Saturday Koby got to wrestle against other "true beginners" at a tournament in Heber. He got 1st place! Way to go Koby! We are so proud of you! (This first picture is a cross between "I am so tired!" and "No more pictures!")

So very grateful for books! I love to read and I am grateful that I have that ability. If you know me at all you should know how very much I love books.

I am grateful for the prophet President Monson. The other day I watched a talk from Pres Monson on the internet and he mentioned how many years he has been serving in the church. It is amazing to me how selfless he is! I am also grateful for all of the other church leaders, inlcuding the local leaders. Their service often goes unappreciated but is so valuable.

I am so grateful for my wonderful neighbors! We are lucky to live in a great close knit area where we have many friends who are so kind. It's nice to know who my neighbors are and to actually care about them.
I am also very grateful that one of my closest neighbors is my brother and his family. They have helped us out more times than I can count. We love having them close so that I can spoil Peyton and Jackson.
Yesterday Matt helped me out with a car battery issue while Steve was headed out of town. Thank you Matt for getting greasy and cold just to help out your big sis!

I am so grateful to all of the men and women who have valiantly served our country with their military service. We are blessed to have so many wonderful freedoms here in America.
I love the quote, "Home of the free, because of the brave!"
Thank you to all of the veterans who have sacrificed so much for us.

Day 10
Today I am grateful for good health. This year we started getting colds/flu/ear infections/croup back in August and I have had to take a lot of sick days. BUT thankfully we haven't come across anything too serious. We are all pretty healthy and I am glad we don't have any serious health challenges to face everyday!

Day 9
I am grateful today for a job that allows me to be able to take time off to stay home with my sick babies. I am especially grateful that both Steve and I have great jobs in this terrible economy. We may not be rich but we can support our family!

Day 8
I am so grateful for wonderful childcare providers. It seems like we have been blessed with the most amazing babysitters for all of our kids. They have loved my children like their own and my kids love being there. We have had to change sitters in the past and amazingly we are always able to find someone else who is just as great!
I am also grateful for amazing schools that Koby and Morgan attend. They are both so smart and have had wonderful teachers through out the years.

Day 7
Today I am grateful for my home. I love my home and that my loved ones are there. I hope that it is a place where others feel welcome and peace. Also grateful for my nice warm bed, running water, indoor plumbing, couches to cuddle on, blankets to warm me, a kitchen table to sit around, and just being able to have a place to call home!

Day 6
I am grateful for my Heavenly Father. For his unconditional love, for all of the wonderful blessing he has given me, for this life I am able to live. I feel overwhelmed with the knowledge of all that He has done for me.
I am grateful for his Son, Jesus Christ. For his example, for his life and for his willingness to die for me. For the great love that he has for me.
I am grateful for the knowledge I have of both Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. That knowledge makes life easier and gives me peace each day.

Grateful today for my family. My brothers, sisters, aunts, unlces, cousins, grandparents, in-laws and everyone that treats me like a part of their family. Couldn't make it through this life without your help!

Day 4
Today I am grateful for my eyes.
I was at a conference today and got to listen to an awesome guest speaker. When he was 18 years old he was hit by a drunk driver. Every bone in his face was broken and he lost his vision. He had an amazing attitude and has done amazing things despite being blind. I am so grateful that my world isn't black and void of all the beauty I get to see each day!

Lazy carvers
Morgan has been begging us to carve the pumpkins. I finally confessed that it's just not my thing. That confession was followed with Koby and Steve's "me too"! So in order to make everyone semi-happy I came up with a compromise and it turned out really fun, not too messy and lots of smiles.
We painted the pumpkins! Here are the results...
Morgan, Maylee and my pumpkins
