Egg hunt

On Saturday I decided to have a small Easter egg hunt for Morgan and Koby. Of course, Koby is bit older and isn't in to looking for plastic eggs. Especially if he can get the leftover candy off the table or from Morgan. I didn't think it would be very fun for just Morgan so I called and asked Matt if he would let my niece Peyton come over...he did and they had so much fun! The girls were adorable and Koby was so cute helping them find the eggs in a cool way.

What I did on spring break....

I wish I could say that I spent spring break going somewhere tropical and exotic, and most importantly warm, but alas that is not the case...

I wish I could say that I spent spring break sleeping in and vegging, but that is also not the case...

I wish I could say that I came back from Spring break with a tan but I am still ghostly white-as always.

Instead I get to say that I got caught up over spring break. I cleaned the house, I took the kids to the doc for their immunization and check ups, I painted the kitchen and my bedroom, got out the Easter decor, and was able to cross a dozen small things off of my to-do list.

I did get to go out on a date with my handsome husband! I spent time with the kids and visited grandma. All of this sounds kinda boring but I am glad that I got some time to catch up-I felt like my list was getting longer than I could handle.

Here are some pics of my paint jobs-love the new color and it feels like we gave the house a face lift!

Kitchen...green marble accent wall:

My bedroom...Grandeur Gray-which actually looks kindof brown with a purplish tint but it looks good!

Swimming lessons

Morgan is currently taking swimming lessons and loving it! She has so much fun. Morgan is so brave in the water.

Koby isn't having quite as much fun... oh well! He is almost a teenager and as a teenager it is his right and duty to always be bored.

oh the things Morgan says

Last night we were at grandma's house for FHE. Steve and I noticed a police car sitting in front of her house. This really intrigued my uncle Lindsay. He kept saying, "wonder why they are here?"

ME: Well where is your police scanner?
MORGAN: Yeah where is your police manners?
ME: Laughing
MORGAN: What? That is what you said!

We are working on getting Morgan ready for school. Last week she learned our address. Here is our conversation:

MORGAN: Ask me what our address is.
ME: What is our address?
MORGAN:(She says it but I am not going to advertise where we live)
ME: Wow! You rock!
MORGAN: (Grinning) If I say it again will you say I rock again?
Then she says it again and before I can say anything she says, "I ROCK!"

Morgan is terrified of birds. If she sees one even close to her she starts crying and won't move.
Conversation in the car...
MORGAN: Mom I can't find my bird.(she was talking about her littlest pet shop toy.)
STEVE: You don't even like birds.
MORGAN: Yes I do! I like birds, they just don't like me.

Part of Morgan's prayer:
Thanks for this day. Thanks for our blessings. Thank you that we could come to familee-leeling. (family home evening)

She is always saying such cute funny things and I think, I should really write that down but when I get in front of a computer I can't seem to remember them all. Also since she talks A LOT there is plenty of things to try and remember.

My babies are growing up!

Next week I am registering Morgan for Kindergarten. She is so excited! I can't believe she is old enough for school.

Now for the news that really makes me feel old...

Koby is registering for Jr. high in two weeks!

It always seemed corny when people would say that you need to cherish every moment of your child's life because they are grown before you know it. BUT, oh my gosh it is so true.

I love watching my children grow and become their own person but I sure do miss the cuddles.

What to do?

On Saturday night while we were all sitting around the dinner table, I said, "We should go do something. BUT it has to be cheap or free!"

After a long time with no comments, I suggested that we go walk around the temple grounds as a family. It was so nice. Despite the fact that Koby was mad about wearing a coat, Morgan was super-hyper and wouldn't stop talking and a young man approached us thinking we were potential investigators, we had a wonderful time.

It was a beautiful night and so peaceful just being on this sacred ground. We took some pictures but most turned out weird-especially the one of the whole family-we look like giants on steroids. Oh well... After we went home and drank hot chocolate...ummm talk about a cheap family date!
