All about Morgan
When I went into labor five years ago, I tried to ignore it. I pretended for about 3.5 hours that the labor pain was all in my head, until finally I broke down and told Steve we had to go to the hospital. I wasn't too happy because the next day my brother was coming home from his mission and we had plans to meet him at the airport. BUT, Morgan was so excited to be born that she couldn't wait for Rick. It worked out and of course I was thrilled to be holding my little girl when Rick stopped by the hospital to say hello. If you can't tell I am the type of person that likes everything planned and Morgan has helped me to learn that life doesn't usually work out like that.
Her middle name is Marie-after my mom Anna Marie.
Morgan is the sweetest little girl. She is always smiling and boy is it a beautiful smile! We call her our princess because she is all girl and besides that she thinks she is a princess.
She loves dresses, skirts, jewelry, barbies, dress up, dancing, singing, painting nails, wearing high heels and playing with her babies. Her favorite color is pink and that shows in most of her clothing.
She is a social butterfly and she loves to make new friends. I am worried about how much time she will spend on the phone as she gets older because this girl LOVES to talk. Steve once mentioned that the only time it is quiet in our house is when Morgan is asleep.
We are so blessed to have our sweet Morgan. She is full of love and fun. She brings sunshine into our home and our lives. We love you sweet girl!

Happy birthday Morgan!
Today is Morgan's 5th birthday. We love you Morgan. Tomorrow I will do a nice long post about my sweet girl, but today I have to spoil her. We are going to see the Princess and the frog (again), riding her new bike, out for Chinese food(yes that is her choice!), painting nails and watching girlie movies later. And of course cake! I hope you have a great birthday!

HOT!
A couple of very cute girls were anxious to find out just how old Koby was on Friday night. Then we got a call later informing us that they think Koby is hot! The girls are 15 and 13! Is it rude to say, "Girls, stay away from my baby boy!"????
Doesn't the pic make Koby look like a deer caught in the headlights? Well that is how he feels about girls chasing after him.
BTW-if this post suddenly dissapears it is because Koby found out about it and in order to get him to speak to me again, I would have to remove the post immediately.

Books
I need help! Not just mental help, which is a given, but I am also asking for your recommendations. Here is the situation:
I am in charge of the book group for May. I need to pick a book for the group to read! You would think with how much I love reading that this would be so easy. But it has become a real ordeal for me.
I decided not to recommend any of my big favorites because what if someone in the group HATES it? What if they bash my book and that makes me love my book less? What if they think the love story in a book is sappy? What if they think the book is predictable while I was totally clueless as to whodunit?
In my quest to find the perfect book, I went online and searched for book group book recommendations. Since I wont suggest a book I haven't read I have been reading like crazy trying to find just the right book. I have read four books in the past week! (My house is kinda showing the effects of that-oops bad mommy!)
I am finding that a lot of the books on book lists are not something I feel comfortable recommending. Many years ago a read one of Oprah's picks and I am still scarred from it! I don't think I am a prudish reader but I enjoy the book more if I don't have to skim over a sex-scene or try and bleep out a string of profanity in my mind. OR worse having to stop reading a book in the middle because I feel so uncomfortable with the content.
So what I am asking for is some recommendations for a book that I can share with my book group. Here is the criteria: No graphic-sex, minimal swearing, and a great story. So I am thinking between a PG and PG13 rating would be acceptable.
So this probably seems a bit silly to you but I guess that is just the way I am. To me books are special and I am obsessive about sharing just the right book.

The count down
Morgan has been anxiously counting down the days...
We started at 2 months...
then we hit 18...
Now there is only 6 more...

Evilness
Morgan has picked up a name from TV that she often uses on us. She will say, "You are E-vil." On Valentine's day while I was trying to take pictures-Koby was showing me his e-vil looks. I think he has it perfected-that face comes out frequently when I am trying to take his picture...here are a few more examples:
I guess instead of calling it the evil look it could also be called the, "Mom! Stop taking my picture! I am so sick of this!" look.
Puppies
We don't have a new puppy-thank goodness! These fat little cuties belong to my parents. It was nice to snuggle and adore them, then return them to their mother. No messes to clean up!
Steve felt bad for poor Georgia who wasn't getting any attention. I got to "puppysit" while Morgan went to the restroom.

Talented children
Earlier this week Koby came home from school with a trophy. In his keyboarding class he took 3rd place in typing speed. At the age of 12, Koby can type 43 wpm. I tried to get him to let me take some cool pictures of him with his trophy but as you can see he wasn't exactly thrilled.
Morgan helped me out by tickling Koby...which resulted in kindof a smile.
Morgan came home from the babysitters house with an adorable Valentine's craft. I took a picture before it got eaten.
Love my two sweet children!

Fan-tastic February!
I have to say that I am very excited to have January behind us. And because I have determined that February will be fantastic, I know it will be!
So here is a quick recap of January 2010.
Me:I spent most of the month throwing up with morning sickness (but lucky me-morning sickness is an all day thing for me!)After finding out that our baby had died I had a D&C-it was all so easy-we went to the hospital, I got some really nice drugs that induced sleep and then woke up a couple hours later and it was all done. Physically I feel really well-mentally...well I am working on it. I was really amazed to find out that so many people love me and what wonderful people I have in my life. I have been busy with work and my church calling. I really enjoy working with the wonderful women in our ward!
Steve: I don't know if you have seen him lately but there is literally less of him to see. I'm not sure exactly how much weight he has lost but he is really looking great! He runs a few times a week, plays bball and works out with Bob from Biggest Looser. In addition he is still busy working with the 11 year old scouts and is now coaching the YM basketball team for our ward. And of course he is still working FT for Allreds.
Koby: I think I am going to have to hire someone to help us keep up with his schedule. He is in the Deacon's presidency so he HAS to be at every activity. Being 12 sure keeps him busy-he has one to two activities every week, one campout a month, additional firesides & meetings, plus city and church basketball-games and practices. This month he is also working on his science project (did I ever mention that science is my least favorite subject? It still is!). Steve took him for a haircut over the weekend and he looks so good-I just hope we can keep the girls from calling for a while longer! One funny story-a couple of girls came over the other night and asked if I would do a survey for them for their science project. I said I would and let them in. They weren't in the door for a full minute before they started looking around and asked, "Where's Koby?" I had to tell them that he was at b-ball practice-such sad faces on those girls!
Morgan: Finally dance classes started up again for Morgan. She has been so excited and she practices her routine all the time. She also wears her dance clothes as often as possible and is constantly trying to get Koby (the prince) to dance with her. She is really looking forward to her birthday and turning 5-which is in only 22 more days! Morgan enjoys going to her new babysitter's house-not that it hurts to have 3-4 kids yell "Morgan is here! YEAH!" whenever she walks through the door. Morgan and I have really been working on preschool homework a lot. I found a cool website and print off worksheets for her. She knows all of her letters and the sounds they each make, and basic addition, numbers, shapes and even basic punctuation. (she writes a lot of letters.) Our newest project is to let her cut out pictures from magazines and to paste them onto colored paper representing each letter. The other day Morgan was having a rough time and was really whiny. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "I just need some love." So of course I quit what I was doing and sat down and cuddled with her!
Ok so now that I have briefed you on our activities for the past month I realize that January wasn't as terrible as I thought. We are good! We have such full blessed lives!
