Today was Koby's 1st day of 5th grade. Just saying that out loud makes me feel old. I can't believe how fast the kids are growing up!
Doesn't he look so handsome?!
Morgan decided to wear her backpack to the babysitter's house today but she also wanted to wear her pj's.
One more picture of the big 5th grader! He really looks excited for school. =)

Werry Family
This past weekend we got together with the Werry family for our annual family reunion. It was so much fun. I was reminded about how lucky I am. I love my family and love being around ALL of them. We actually all get along great and have fun just hanging out together.
On Saturday we went to the Manti temple. This was the first time we had all (the adults)been to the temple together since Rick and Tara got married. It was a beautiful day and I am glad that Rick encouraged us to go. Over the weekend we ate a lot, played games, laughed, watched the olympics and just hung out together. I let Morgan stay up way too late and didn't enforce naps so she got very cranky-she actually fell asleep around 8pm last night and is now back to being my sweet little girl.
Now we are back home, trying to get back into a regular routine since school starts for Koby on Wednesday. I can't believe that he is already in the 5th grade. Once he starts school I am going to try and work more with Morgan on a "preschool" type of learning at home. She is pretty eager to learn. I have taken a lot of time off of work this summer and now I feel like I have to 'buckle down' and get back to a normal schedule-it doesn't sound too fun to me though. Oh well I guess its part of being a grown up.

Tomorrow Steve and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary. This is a picture of us-we both look younger and thinner...
Koby was a bit shy around everyone-so many people and a lot of cameras. From the moment we came out of the temple Koby started calling Steve dad. And Steve is a wonderful dad to both of our kids-he never calls Koby his step-son and that makes me love him even more!
Juicy tidbits about Steve and I:
How we met: LDS singles online-we talked for two months before our first date although we tell most people we met through a friend.
1st gifts we exchanged: Steve got a jar of PB & I got a poinsetta
The proposal: Steve, Koby and I went up Provo Canyon one evening. We sat on some huge boulders and looked out over Utah Valley. It was a bit chilly and so Steve said he would get a blanket out of the car and asked Koby if he wanted to walk to the car with him. A few minutes later Koby came running up to me and said, "look mom look!" He was holding a beautiful ring box in his little fingers. Steve hurried up behind him and said, "Wait!" He wrapped the blanket around my shoulders, got down on one knee, opened the ring box and asked me to marry him. Koby said, "Say yes mom!" You can guess what I said since we had already annonced our engagement months earlier to our family and friends-we were just waiting for the ring. I loved that Steve involved Koby in the whole process!
How we told the Werry family we were getting married: About 7pm we hopped in the car and took a two hour drive to my parents house. The were shocked that we just showed up but the announcement that we were getting married was no surprise at all. My dad said two things-"it's about time" and "what a shocker!" (he can be a bit sarcastic!)
How we told the Zabriskie family about our engagement: On Saturday we took Dan and Verena out for lunch and shared our news. Dan said, "wow what a surprise." (he can be sarcastic too.) On Sunday the whole family was getting together for dinner and Verena asked if she could be the one to make our announcement. We agreed. After everyone was sitting down Verena announced that they were having a new grandchild. Everyone looked around at everyone trying to figure out who was going to have a baby. I admit I was looking around too. After everyone accused everyone of being pregnant, Verena said that their new grandchild was named Koby. It didn't take long for everyone to understand what that meant and everyone in the room began to yell and applaud.
Where we got married: Mt. Timpanogos temple, American Fork, Utah
Why we got married on August 15: I finished my summer classes on August 11th and had to return for fall semester on August 25th. And Matt, my brother, got home from his mission on August 9th and I wanted atleast one brother at my wedding-Rick was on his mission.
Steve, you are the love of my life! I am so gateful that we have had 5 wonderful years and I am looking forward to many many more. Thanks for always being there for me, for making me laugh, for holding me when I cry, for treating me like a queen and for loving me! You are the greatest. I love you!

Missing my kids
This week Koby and Morgan are visiting Papa and Gramma Werry. I am sure that they are having a blast-they usually do. They love doing all of the farm stuff and of course they get spoiled a lot! I am so glad that they are able to go and spend time with my parents but I miss them. After just the first day of "freedom" Steve and I start talking about all the things we miss. Just last night Steve said he even missed hearing Morgan say, "Koby is bothering me." and Koby saying, "Morgan keeps coming into my room and she won't leave me alone." It is so funny to me how kids take over your whole life and become the most important things and they do it so quickly. I do enjoy spending time alone with Steve and having so few responsibilities but it sure is quiet at home in the evenings. I can't wait to see them and catch up on all of the hugs that I have missed this week.

Last weekend we had so much fun camping with the Zabriskies. It was so beautiful at Strawberry reservoir and a lot of fun being with the whole family. We got some great pictures.
View from the top! These pictures are taken half way through our long 4wheel ride. It was so beautiful up there but very dusty trails and that is why I am wearing the adorable goggles. Now I could have taken them off but then there would be huge white circles around my eyes-the only spot that wasn't covered in dirt. FYI-Koby was wearing a helmet too but took it off for the picture. Below is a picture of the group that went to 'the spot' first-they were gone for about an hour and came back just coated in dust. We laughed and laughed and then grabbed the camera.
Morgan is now addicted to riding on the 4 wheeler. Don't let the expression on her face fool you-she loved every minute that she was on it and then asked frequently if we could go for a ride.Oh no! Koby is on fire...not really it is just an illusion with a tiki light. Kevin celebrated his 4th birthday with us. This is him checking out his brand new bike.
Koby and I chillin' around the campfire. Yes I took the picture myself.
Morgan loved sitting in this little chair and was in heaven if she could get Cayden and Kevin to sit beside her-ofcourse it is hard for 4 year old boys to sit still for long.
This is Cayden after eating a smore. What a cutie!
Steve is an expert at making smores. He roasts the marshmallow just perfectly and thankfully he is always willing to do it for me. Here he is checking on his masterpiece. Sitting beside him is Brian and their dad. In front of them is Jordan, my nephew the pyromaniac.
We had a blast just being together and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. And ofcourse the food was wonderful too!
